Gallery Jamar
Encouraged by the Flemish artist Jef Geys Jos Jamar starts his gallery in 1989. Emphasis is on the work of Jef Geys, Marcel Broodthaers and Panamarenko. In the opening year of the gallery he publishes the catalogue raisonné of Marcel Broodthaers prints and books. Meanwhile he starts collecting the multiples of that other famous Belgian artist: Panamarenko.
Today Panamarenko's work (original sculptures, objects, drawings, multiples) is permanent on view at the gallery, in alternation with works by Jef Geys, Marcel Broodthaers, Laurent Cruyt, Léon Spilliaert; Pierre Alechinsky; Andy Warhol; René Magritte, James Ensor and Jan Fabre...
